Ice Rink at Millennium Park

The Ice Rink at Millennium Park will open for the 17th season and remain open through March 5, 2017, weather permitting. This large outdoor refrigerated rink features skate rental, skate sharpening, snack concessions, restrooms, warming house, lockers and an excellent skating surface!

Ice resurfacing occurs from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. on weekends and daily December 22 - January 8.

Winter Jamboree and Cross Country Ski Class 

The Winter Jamboree and Cross Country Ski Class at Milham Park Golf Club, sponsored by the City of Portage, City of Kalamazoo and Lee’s Adventure Sports, has been postponed from January 28 to February 25 due to mild weather conditions.  The Winter Jamboree will offer various outdoor recreation activities to engage our communities in winter fun! 

  • At 9 a.m., an introductory Cross Country Ski class will be offered. Pre-registration is required by February 22 and equipment is available through Lee’s Adventure Sports. Please visit Lee’s Adventure Sports to register for this event.  
Age 8 years - adult 
Fee: $15 per person 8-14 years and $20 per person 15 years & up

  • From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Winter Jamboree is open to the public, free of charge. Winter activities will include snow archery, snow golf, sledding (bring your own sled), fat tire bike demos (free and provided by Pedal Bicycles), a snow-obstacle relay course, and cardboard sled races (built and brought from home).
