City Centre Flowers
The City of Portage partners with Kalamazoo in Bloom each year to plant and maintain flower beds in the City Centre Area. Volunteers are needed to assist with two important tasks to create a beautiful display of summer blooms for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Flower Planting Day: Friday, May 19, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to plant annual flowers in City Centre flower beds. Bring a trowel and gloves if possible − extras will be on hand. Meet at Library Lane in the City Centre at 9 a.m. Morning snacks and lunch will be provided!
Adopt a Bed Volunteers: Adopt a flower bed in the Portage City Centre Area. In addition to planting annuals, adopters care for beds throughout the season, weeding and deadheading as necessary. Watering will be provided by the city.
