Quarterly Curbside Brush Collection Program

APRIL CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION DELAYED (1 WEEK)

Due to the late arrival of spring and amount of snow still on ground, the start of the City of Portage Quarterly Curbside Brush Collection for April 2014, which includes bagged leaves, has been delayed one week.  This will hopefully provide residents an adequate opportunity to cleanup yards and place items along the curb for removal.

This program includes the quarterly collection of brush in January, April, July and October, including pickup of Christrmas trees in January and BAGGED LEAVES IN APRIL.

For collection purposes, the city is divided into four collection zones. Click here to view program details and a printable map that indicates the Monday designated for pickup in your neighborhood.

The next Quarterly Curbside Brush Collection and bagged leaf pickup will occur:

  • Northwest Zone: Starts April 14

  • Southwest Zone: Starts April 21

  • Southeast Zone: Starts April 28

  • Southwest Zone: Starts May 5

Residents are asked to place brush at the curbside by 7 a.m. on the designated Monday for their collection zone. Materials may be placed at curbside up to – but not more than – 72 hours prior to 7 a.m. on Monday. This program includes collection of Christmas trees in January and one collection of leaves and ornamental grasses in biodegradable paper bags in April. Residents are reminded that a small amount of debris may remain at the curb following brush collection and are asked to assist with the final cleanup.

  • To ensure collection, residents must place all materials at curbside no later than 7 a.m. on the designated Monday.

  • Items placed at curbside after 7 a.m. on the designated Monday will not be collected.

  • Bagged leaves and ornamental grasses will be collected during the APRIL COLLECTION ONLY.

Questions about this program can be directed to the Streets Maintenance Division at 329-4444.

Note: The Quarterly Curbside Brush Collection program is not performed on private streets or for commercial establishments, churches or schools.  The Quarterly Curbside Brush Collection Program is only provided at residential properties on public streets.
