Garden Lane Water Treatment Facility Receives Naturalized Landscaping
In the interest of environmental sustainability, the front landscaping at the Garden Lane Water Treatment Facility has been regraded and reseeded with a native wet meadow and wet mesic prairie seed mix. The reseeding will allow the native seeding to return to the area and provide an attractive wildflower landscape, requiring minimal mowing and fertilizing.
The area immediately in front of the building was planted with a wet to mesic prairie mix on the entire upper (east) section and around the rim of the western property. The seeded area was seeded with an overlap of species, which will allow the site and species variety to determine which plants will grow best.
