City to Host Community Meeting About Consumers Energy Tree Trimming Projects

Consumers Energy will soon be conducting tree-trimming work along utility lines in three areas in the Portage community:
  1. A portion of Centre Avenue near Lovers Lane and Lovers Lane north of Centre Avenue
  2. A small area around Austin Lake
  3. An area southwest of Oakland Drive and Milham Avenue
A community meeting will be hosted by the City of Portage on Thursday, August 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Portage City Hall, 7900 South Westnedge Avenue. Representatives from Consumers Energy will present a 30-minute informational presentation about tree-trimming practices. Residents will also have the opportunity to ask questions of Consumers Energy staff, as well as city staff and the City of Portage contracted forester.
