6. Open and Responsive Municipal Government

The City of Portage strives to provide open and responsive municipal government and has made customer service a priority. According to the 25th Community Survey, an overwhelming majority of survey respondents (87.7 percent) feel they are receiving good services for their tax dollars and the majority of respondents were satisfied with the quality of service received from a city employee. In 2012, the City received a grade of A+ from a national organization for transparency.
