  1. Ping Pong League- Session 2

    Ping pong is a great low-impact sport that any athlete can play! Come play ping pong and meet new friends in our recreational ping pong league. Two 10-week sessions are offered. All games for both sessions will start at 6 and 7 PM. Space is limited! Registration for the second session runs October 31 - December 18.   3. Downhill Ski & Snowboard Lessons

    January 19, 2020, 2:00 PM - February 2, 2020, 3:30 PM @ Timber Ridge Ski Area

    Group downhill ski and snowboard lessons for beginners 8 years and up will be taught by professional instructors on the snowy slopes of Timber Ridge, just 30 minutes from Portage. The registration fee includes ski or snowboard equipment rental, three instruction sessions and lift ticket valid until 8 PM on each lesson date Space is limited. Preregistration is required by January 16 at mypark.portagemi.gov; click on the purple Recreation Activities & Facility Rentals button.

  4. Winter Snow Party

    February 1, 2020, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Oakland Drive Park

    Enjoy time with your family and friends, all while embracing the wonders of the Michigan outdoors. Get a thrill out of sledding and compete in the snowman building contest! Create, decorate and bring your own cardboard sled! Build and dress up the fanciest snowman! Prizes will be awarded for best in show for both contests as well as the fastest cardboard sled! Cardboard sled contests begins at 1 PM with snowman building immediately following. Warm up near the bonfire with hot chocolate and coffee available for purchase. The event is hosted by the Portage Youth Advisory Committee. All ages welcome.
