Spring & Summer Employment Opportunities

SEASONAL LABORERS - Pay Rate: $8.25 Per Hour     Positions filled
Performs general park maintenance including mowing, trimming, trash pick-up, minor repairs and athletic field preparation. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. and work outside in adverse weather conditions. Prior parks or grounds experience is preferred. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a valid MI driver license and a good driving record. Must be available full-time, day shift, Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends required.
FLORAL LABORERS - Pay Rate: $8.25 Per Hour   Positions filled 
Performs general maintenance of flowerbeds and grounds including planting, weeding, fertilizing and watering. Must be able to stoop, kneel and bend for long periods, lift up to 100 lbs. and work outside in adverse weather conditions. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid MI driver license with a good driving record. Must be available full-time, day shift, Monday-Friday, with some weekends required.
RAMONA PARK LIFEGUARDS/SENIOR LIFEGUARDS  - Pay Rate: $8.25 and $8.75 Per Hour Positions filled
Monitors beach activities, performs facility and beach maintenance and sells vehicle permits at Ramona Park. Previous lifeguard experience and Red Cross certification preferred. Must be a strong swimmer and successfully complete the mandatory training program held in early May. Season runs mid-May through August, hours/shifts vary. Must be available through Labor Day, including weekends and holidays.
RAMONA PARK SUPERVISORS -
Pay Rate: $9.75 Per Hour  Positions filled
Manages lifeguard staff, scheduling and training sessions, also performs lifeguard duties and customer service with park patrons. Previous lifeguard experience and Red Cross certification preferred. Must be a strong swimmer and successfully complete the mandatory training program held in early May. Season runs mid-May through August, hours/shifts vary. Must be available through Labor Day, including weekends and holidays.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS - Pay Rate: $7.75 Per Hour

Assists in operating the lighting and sound board for the performances at the Hayloft Theater, Band Shell and other event sites. Prior technical experience in theater/stage production lighting and sound is preferred. Must be dependable and willing to perform other duties as assigned, such as stage and equipment set-up, event preparation, facility and grounds clean up. Hours/shifts vary, 20-30 hrs./wk. Must be available weekends from May-August, afternoons and evenings.
CULTURAL ASSISTANTS - Pay Rate: $7.75 Per Hour  
Assists with many facets of cultural events including set-up and tear down of stage and equipment, event preparation and grounds clean up. Prior theatrical background with knowledge of theatrical terminology is helpful. Also conducts tours for visitors and scheduled groups at the Celery Flats Historical Area. Must be dependable, willing to perform set up and clean up duties as assigned and have excellent communication skills. Hours/shifts vary, 20-25 hrs./wk.  Must be available weekends from May-August, afternoons and evenings.
SUMMER FUN CENTER AIDES & SUPERVISORS - Pay Rate: $7.40 and $7.75 Per Hour       Positions filled
Develops and assists with children's programs including sporting games, arts & crafts and field trips.  High level of energy and interaction required.  Education/experience with children ages 6-11 is preferred. Approx. 33 hrs./wk., Monday-Friday, June - August, with additional training days required.
