The Portage Fire Department provides emergency services in a range of areas including fire suppression, emergency medical services and technical rescue services. Additionally, the department provides fire prevention services including commercial business and multi-family residential inspections, commercial and site and building plan reviews, including new residential plats, and multi-family living complexes. Public education includes station tours as well as presentations in the Portage Public Schools and for Head Start.
