Responsibilities

The Finance Department and its associated departments of Treasury and Purchasing, offer financial services including:

  • Accounting Functions
  • Budgeting
  • Financial Reporting
  • Monetary Collections
  • Procurement of Goods and Services
  • Risk Management

Oversight & Functions

The Finance Department manages the city budget of approximately $97 million as well as the city six-year Capital Improvement Program budget designed to plan for important infrastructure projects. The Finance Department is consistently awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Award. This department performs accounting and financial reporting activities and issues the Annual Consolidated Financial Report, or (ACFR). The Finance Department is awarded the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award for the ACFR on an annual basis. Other functions of this department include payroll, accounts payable, investment management, and grant administration.
