Farmers Market

Farmers Market Logo

The Portage Farmers Market supports and strengthens opportunities for farmers, local specialty food producers and artisan entrepreneurs, that contribute to the overall health of the community.

The Portage Farmers Market runs every Sunday from 9 AM - 1 PM at Portage City Hall (7900 South Westnedge Avenue). The market is open May through October. Local vendors offer fresh produce, meat, eggs, baked goods, flowers, crafts, gifts and more!

Portage Farmers Market Outgrowing Current Location

The Portage Farmers Market has operated out of the Portage City Hall parking lot since 2016.  With more vendors than ever and an increase in market patrons, the city is searching for a permanent location to host the Sunday market.  A permanent market space would be accessible, have space for a permanent vendor structure, and have the potential to host other Portage Parks & Recreation events.

The Portage City Council will hold a Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, August 8 at 5 PM at Portage City Hall to review the results of an informal Farmers Market Content Survey, discuss conceptual designs, and consider potential locations for a new market.

The Portage Farmers Market is now accepting applications

for vendors and musicians for the 2023 Season!

The Portage Farmers market is proud to promote local farmers, food producers, crafts-people, and artisans.  Participating vendors must meet all Federal, State and local preparation, licensing, labeling and storage regulations and may only sell products that are legal under Federal and State law.

Opening day of the Portage Farmers Market will be on Sunday, May 7, 2023 and will run every Sunday thereafter through Sunday, October 15.  During these 25 weeks, market hours are 9 AM to 1 PM.  Vendor stall spaces are 10’ by 10’ and each vendor is required to provide their own tent, table, signage/banner and weights (at least 50 pounds per leg).  A market stall costs $325 for the season or $20 for the daily fee.
