The Lake Center District is an important area within our city. The rarity of not one, but two lakefronts, presents unique needs and opportunities as the community grows. The Lake Center District runs along Portage Road between Osterhout Avenue and East Centre Avenue. In 2019, the Portage City Council directed the City Administration to establish a proactive plan for the future of the Lake Center District that will benefit the community, property owners, and area businesses, and create a vibrant, beautiful, and safe destination.
