[ARCHIVED] Holiday Tree & Card Walk

City of Portage Holiday Card Tree Walk 2021

Portage Parks & Recreation is hosting two unique decorating opportunities ̶  the Holiday Card Walk and the Holiday Tree Walk.  Both of these holiday showcases will be displayed at the Celery Flats Historical Area for the holiday season.  The city is recruiting local businesses, clubs, families and organizations to add to the festive atmosphere in the City Centre.

The Holiday Card Walk features seasonal “cards” placed along walkways in the Celery Flats Historical Area.  Groups create cards that depict a winter, non-denominational, holiday theme, painted on a 4’ x 8’ sheet of plywood; minimum ½ inch thick, painted white on the backside and able to withstand outdoor weather conditions.   Cards will be installed in an upright (vertical) position. The completed cards must be delivered to the Department of Public Works (7719 South Westnedge Avenue) by November 8 at 4 PM.

The Holiday Tree Walk features decorated holiday trees.  Portage Parks & Recreation will provide the tree and simple string lighting.  Groups then decorate the tree as they wish.  Trees must be reserved by November 1 at 4 PM and decorated (on site) between November 20 – 30.

For more information and to reserve a tree, contact Portage Parks & Recreation at (269) 329-4522.
