Dear Members,

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the joy and connection we’ve shared here at the PZSC. From lively programs to inspiring moments of friendship, your participation has truly made this a special year.

This holiday season, we are filled with gratitude for each and every one of you. Whether you’ve joined us for a fitness class, volunteered your time, or simply stopped by for coffee and conversation, you are part of what makes this community so vibrant and welcoming.

The holidays are a time to celebrate traditions, create memories, and look forward to the year ahead. We hope this season brings warmth, peace, and plenty of time with loved ones. If you’re spending the holidays with us at the Senior Center, we look forward to sharing the festivities with you, from holiday meals to special events.

On behalf of our entire team, we wish you health, happiness, and a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for making the Portage Zhang Senior Center such a wonderful place to work, play, and grow together.

Author Robert Weir has journeyed through the Himalayas twice. Traveling alone and at his own pace, he has seen magnificent places and engaged in cultural conversations. In “India Himalayan Adventures,” Robert takes you on a journey to ride buses on the infamous Leh-Manali Highway (narrow, muddy, no guardrails); sleep in mountain yurts; work with Architects without Borders to rebuild homes after a killer flood; engage in personal conversations with delightful merchants in their tiny, open-air shops; talk with young Buddhists who risk their lives to help their families who are politically trapped in Tibet; and more.
