    PIG OUT Saturday, August 24, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Central Park (7800 Shaver Road) FREE Come join the Portage department of Public Safety for their annual Pig Out event. This FREE back-to-school event provides kids with backpacks and school supplies needed for the new school year. There will be a cookout, your favorite local magician Brian Penny will be doing up-close magic, face painting, game and much more! No registration is required however; school supplies are while supplies last. The Public Safety department is currently collecting K-8 school supplies (pencils, colored pencils, markers, rulers, etc.) for the event. Supplies can be delivered to the lobby of the Department of Public Safety by Friday, August 16.

The farmers’ market will be held in the parking lot at City Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting May 12 and running through October 13. The Portage Farmers’ Market vendors are all local so you know where your food and crafts originate. Vendors interested in participating may contact the Parks Department at 269-329-4522
