The public is invited to the second Commercial Corridor Rezoning Workshop on Tuesday, May 21 from 6:30 to 8 PM at Lake Center Elementary School, 10011 Portage Road. The workshop will include an overview of existing zoning requirements and some preliminary options for the Lake Center Commercial Corridor Rezoning process. Those who attend will be given an opportunity to provide feedback prior to amendments being drafted.
In January, the city kicked off the process with an initial public meeting and has held two meetings with the Stakeholder Committee. The proposed rezoning aims to promote commercial reinvestment, diversify uses and building types, and enhance connectivity with the public space. This will shape the area’s character and improve consistency in the review process. The rezoning process is expected to continue over the next several months and will have additional opportunities for public input.
