Construction is set to begin on West Milham Avenue from Oakland Drive to South Westnedge Avenue on April 9, 2019 weather permitting. This section of West Milham Avenue will undergo improvements consisting of milling the existing pavement, installation of a north bound right turn lane at Constitution Boulevard, sidewalk and ramps improvements, new traffic signals at Oakland Drive, new traffic signals at Constitution Boulevard and repaving.
The City of Portage is committed to keeping the traffic flowing during the construction period. There will be periods of lane restrictions but access to driveways will be maintained except for brief periods during milling and repaving operations. Traffic delays can be expected in this area. It is anticipated that construction will be substantially completed by August 16, 2019 (weather and materials permitting).
