On November 2, 2024, the City of Portage partnered with Cherry Creek Community Church to clean its parks, roadways, and trails, helping to keep Portage beautiful and a “Natural Place to Move!”
Throughout the day, several volunteer teams from the church picked up garbage and debris at Portage Creek Bicentennial Park (910 East Milham Avenue), along the railroad corridor, and along the Portage Creek Bicentennial Park trail. Their efforts continued at the entrance of Celery Flats, along Lovers Lane, and along Romence Road.
Special thanks to Cherry Creek Community Church organizers for working with the City of Portage to make this pickup event possible. If you have an interest in doing a volunteer pickup, please contact City Manager Pat McGinnis at mcginnip@portagemi.gov.
