Portage Parks & Recreation welcomes the Rhythm Society Orchestra to the Summer Concert Series on Thursday, August 10 at 7 PM. The concert takes place at Overlander Bandshell in Central Park, 7810 Shaver Road.
The Rhythm Society Orchestra is a 15-piece dance band specializing in true vintage swing music with a sound heavily influenced by Count Basie and Harry James. Based in Detroit, this band plays top venues throughout the Midwest and has been featured on numerous television and radio programs. Bring a chair or blanket and don't forget to leave a little room for dancing!
Top Shelf Catering Food Truck will serve concessions for purchase. Parking will open at 5 PM and is first come, first served. A drop-off loop and parking will be available behind Portage Public Safety for those with mobility issues. Parking is also available at City Hall, Portage Zhang Senior Center, First Reformed Church, Portage Community Center, and Comerica Bank.
