Are you interested in fire safety and prevention? If so, you’ll want to mark your calendar for the annual Fire Prevention Week Open House! It’s happening on Saturday, October 7, from 9:30 AM to 12 PM at Portage Fire Station No. 1. This is a great opportunity to learn how to use a fire extinguisher, check out the trucks, and meet the firefighters who drive them.
The Portage Fire Prevention Week Open House will have something for everyone, including puppet shows for the kids, a youth firefighter obstacle course, a coloring contest, fire extinguisher training, photos at the selfie station, Bronson Safe Kids, and many other activities. While at the Open House, you can also find out if you are eligible for the Smoke Alarm Installation Program. This FREE event offers fun and education for the entire family. Be sure to stop by and check it out!
