The City of Portage and Suez Environmental are proud to invite Portage residents to tour the Garden Lane Water Treatment Facility. Learn about the procedures used in producing safe, high-quality water. Hands-on demonstrations and presentations will be available, along with plant tours and refreshments.
The open house will be held from 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, May 18 at the Garden Lane Water Treatment Facility, just east of the Celery Flats Historical Area. At 10 AM, a distinguished panel made up of officials from the Michigan Department of Public Health, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Kalamazoo County Environmental Health and the Kalamazoo County Drain Commissioner will participate in a panel discussion, moderated by City Manager, Larry Shaffer. A question and answer session will follow.
Parking is available at the water treatment facility and in the Celery Flats Historical Area over flow parking lot.
