The City of Portage 2025 Chip and Fog Seal Program Begins June 9
The City of Portage 2025 Street Chip and Fog Seal Program aims to extend the lifespan of selected streets through essential maintenance. The improvements include applying emulsion and stone chips to the street, compacting the stone chips, then sealing with a fog spray and sweeping any loose stones.
Pavement Maintenance Systems of Imlay City, Michigan, will execute the 2025 Chip and Fog Sealing Program. The chip sealing is set to begin on Monday, June 9, and is expected to be completed by Friday, June 20, weather permitting. Fog sealing will take place shortly thereafter. The streets scheduled for this project are:
- West Osterhout Avenue (South Westnedge Avenue to Shaver Road)
- Oakland Drive (Centre Avenue to Milham Avenue)
- East Centre Avenue (Lovers Lane to Portage Road)
- Mandigo Avenue (Andrews Street to Autumn View Lane)
During paving operations, at least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times. To ensure the safety of motorists and contracted workers and to facilitate the smooth and efficient completion of the project, we kindly request that all vehicles be removed from the roadway during the work period. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
Questions or concerns regarding the work may be directed to the Department of Public Works at (269) 329-4444.
