The City of Portage has been advised that Kalamazoo County has decided to opt into the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services plan to spray insecticide to mitigate the public health risk of potential exposure to Eastern Equine Encephalitis. At this time, the spraying is scheduled to take place starting Sunday, September 29 at 8 PM and continuing until 4:30 AM the next morning.

Also attached is a list of Frequently Asked Questions supplied by the State of Michigan (Michigan.gov/EEE).
