On October 1, the City Council set its schedule of regular City Council meetings for the 2020 calendar year. The City Charter requires that the Council meet at least twice a month.
Historically, the Council has met on Tuesdays; however, due to the large voter turnout expected for the 2020 Presidential Election, the Council has decided to meet on Wednesday, November 4, rather than on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3). The full 2020 meeting schedule is shown below.

City Council regular meeting agendas are posted on the city website on the Friday before each regular Council meeting. A “Final Agenda” is posted by 3 PM on the day of the meeting. Meeting minutes are posted on the same web page once approved by the Council (usually at the next regular meeting).
City Council meetings are held at 7 PM in the City Council Chambers at Portage City Hall, 7900 South Westnedge Avenue. Council meetings are always open to the public.
Council meetings can be viewed live on Charter channel 995 and AT&T channel 99. All meetings can be streamed live. Meeting videos are also posted to the city website, typically by noon on the next business day.
