[ARCHIVED] Leaf Pickup

Leaf Collection Ad

Update - 11/14/2019:  The DPW crews are heading into Zone 2 to collect leaves. Remember, they are almost a week behind schedule due to the need to clear streets at the beginning of the week and now due to the snow on top of the leaves. If you see one of these employees engaged in this activity, give 'em a wave and thank them for their hard work!

Update - 11/13/2019:  The Fall Leaf Pickup Program has resumed today, November 13. Collection will begin in Zone 1; however, due to added weight from snow and ice, it is expected that each zone will be cleared in two days, rather than the normal one day. The progress of the Fall Leaf Pickup Program is weather dependent and may be further delayed due to the need for crews to return to street snowplowing operations. Please follow us on Facebook @CityofPortageMI or visit portagemi.gov/282 to view program updates.

Update - 11/11/2019:  The 2019 Fall Leaf Pickup Program is currently on a temporary hold to allow crews from the Department of Public Works to focus on clearing and maintaining the city streets. During this period of winter weather, the safety of Portage motorists is paramount. As the weather allows, city crews will resume the Fall Leaf Pickup Program in Zone 1. For more information and program updates, please follow us on Facebook @CityofPortageMI or visit portagemi.gov/282. Questions can be directed to the Department of Public Works at 329-4444.
