[ARCHIVED] Park Restrictions

PBall

In order to comply with Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s expanded Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive Order (EO 2020-42), the City of Portage has expanded the closure of “hands-on” facilities in Portage parks by closing tennis and pickleball courts. Other facilities closed to the public include basketball courts, restrooms, playground equipment, pavilions and picnic tables. The South Westnedge Skate Park and Dog Park also remain closed.

“We regret having to close the tennis and pickleball courts, as so many Portagers enjoy these activities,” said City Manager Joe La Margo. “However, we must ensure that we are doing everything we can to stem the spread of COVID-19 and to comply with Governor Whitmer’s order.”

Green spaces and trails within Portage parks remain open for use by the public. Park patrons are reminded adhere to the six-foot social distancing rule.
