April 24, 2020 UPDATE:
The precautionary boil water advisory on Romence Road (from 349 – 808 only), Bolingbrook Drive, Sparrow Ridge Street, Castlefort Avenue and Windhaven Court are being lifted. Collection of bacteriological samples from the water main have passed State regulated standards.

On April 24, 2020, a water main break occurred at Romence Road and Sears Drive. It became necessary to depressurize a large area of water main to complete the repair. Portage water customers on Romence Road (from 349 - 808 only), Bolingbrook Drive, Sparrow Ridge Street, Castlefort Avenue and Windhaven Court are advised to boil their tap water for a minimum of one minute prior to use for drinking, brushing teeth or cooking. The attached map illustrates the boil water advisory area.
This is a precautionary measure and all means of flushing and collecting bacteriological samples from the water main before the advisory is lifted will be followed. A news release will follow once the advisory is over.
