Road Work Ahead

South Westnedge Avenue Reconstruction - Trade Centre Way to Kilgore Road 

Lane restrictions on South Westnedge Avenue from Trade Centre Way to Kilgore Road will begin Monday, May 11, 2020 at 8 AM as the South Westnedge Avenue Reconstruction begins. The project includes curb replacement, sidewalk ramp improvements, milling, asphalt resurfacing and restoration. 

The City of Portage is committed to keeping the traffic flowing during the construction period. There will be periods of lane restrictions but access to driveways will be maintained except for brief periods during milling and repaving operations. Traffic delays can be expected in this area. It is anticipated that construction will be completed by July 11, 2020 (weather and materials permitting).

East Centre Avenue Reconstruction - Portage Road to South Sprinkle Road 

Lane restrictions on East Centre Avenue from Portage Road to South Sprinkle Road and on Portage Road in advance of the East Centre intersection will begin Monday, May 11, 2020 at 7 AM. The East Centre Avenue Reconstruction project includes the extension of a left-turn pocket at Stryker’s driveway entrance, curb replacement, storm sewer improvements, pedestrian signal upgrades, sidewalk ramp improvements, milling, asphalt resurfacing and restoration. 

The City of Portage is committed to keeping the traffic flowing during the construction period. There will be periods of lane restrictions but access to driveways will be maintained except for brief periods during milling and repaving operations. Traffic delays can be expected in this area. It is anticipated that construction will be completed by July 2, 2020 (weather and materials permitting).
