No Postage Necessary! The State of Michigan will reimburse local clerks for postage on return absentee ballots for the November 3 General Election. For Portage voters this means the green return envelope inside absentee ballot will feature a pink postal meter stamp in the upper right corner. No additional stamp is needed! This applies for Portage voters only; other jurisdictions may have chosen a different option for return postage.
Alternatively, Portage voters can still choose to return their absentee ballots in person at Portage City Hall (7900 South Westnedge). Ballots can be deposited in the secure drop box available inside City Hall in front of the City Clerk’s Office or the outside secure drop box available 24/7 on the east side of City Hall.
To apply online for an absentee ballot or to track your absentee ballot, check out the Michigan Voter Information Center at mi.gov/vote. For more information, contact the Portage Office of the City Clerk at 329-4511.
