Construction on East Milham Avenue from South Westnedge Avenue to Portage Road will begin on Monday, April 12 at 7 AM. Traffic delays are expected in this area and motorists are urged to seek an alternate route. Construction in the roadway is expected to be complete by late August, with landscaping wrapping up in October.
Construction will consist of water main installation, storm sewer improvements, traffic signal replacement at Newport Road, upgrades of sidewalk and ADA ramps, new curb and gutter, complete milling and resurfacing of the roadway and landscape restorations. Traffic signal replacement on West Milham Avenue at Oregon Avenue is also included in the scope of work.
During construction, lane closures will be in place; however, access to all driveways will be maintained, except for brief periods during milling and paving operations. It is anticipated that paving will be complete and lane closures removed by August 9, 2021.
