The City of Portage Board of Review will meet at Portage City Hall* (7900 South Westnedge Avenue) on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10 AM, until such time as the Board completes its business. The July Board of Review does not have authority to review valuation disputes. The purpose of this meeting is to address clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact related to real and personal property assessments. Disabled Veterans Exemptions and Poverty Exemptions will also be considered at this time. Download a Disabled Veterans Exemption Affidavit or a Poverty Exemption Application at portagemi.gov/156. Completed forms must be received by the City Assessor no later than Thursday, July 1, 2021.
The board may also consider 2018 through 2021 Homeowner’s Principal Residence Exemptions (PRE) where no previous affidavit was filed and denied. Download a PRE Affidavit and Board of Review PRE Request form at portagemi.gov/156. PRE Affidavits must be completed prior to the meeting.
Any clerical errors or mutual mistakes of fact that need to be presented to the Board of Review can be scheduled by calling 329-4433 or by visiting the Office of the City Assessor prior to the meeting.
