Now that the number of COVID-19 cases is dropping in Michigan and more and more people are being vaccinated, leading to the state easing restrictions, all city buildings will reopen to the public on July 1, with business hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. All public meetings will be open to in-person attendance beginning July 1 as well.
Several health and safety measures will remain in place to protect the public and city employees. Please continue to wash your hands or sanitize frequently. Maintain at least six feet of distance between you and other individuals. The counter and desk shields installed at various locations will remain for the time being. Although most city employees are vaccinated, employees and visitors who are not vaccinated are encouraged to wear a face-covering in city buildings.
Residents and customers can still take advantage of non-contact service options, such as online services and the 24-hour drop boxes at City Hall – especially for ballot applications/ballots and bill payments. Customers may continue to make appointments with department staff members so that their time in the building is maximized. And for those who are not yet ready to attend meetings in person, for the time being, we will maintain a virtual participation option for public meetings.
