Portage Parks & Recreation will host Lanterns on the Lake on Saturday, May 21 from 8 to 9:30 PM at Ramona Park Beach, 8600 South Sprinkle Road. Light up the lake with floating lanterns that carry words of hope and inspiration, or honors those you love. Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy while you decorate your lantern. Chris Behre, the musical guest, will perform throughout the evening.
Registration for the event is required by Wednesday, May 18. To register, visit mypark.portagemi.gov and click on the purple “Recreation Activities & Facilities Rentals” button. The registration fee is $10 per person and includes one lantern kit.
To avoid impacting the environment, Portage Parks & Recreation will retrieve all the floating lanterns from the water after the event concludes.
