Applications are in the Mail! The Office of the City Clerk mailed absentee ballot applications for the upcoming November 8 General Election on Wednesday, September 7 to Portage voters who signed up on the Permanent Absent Voter Application List.
Please remember the State of Michigan required the prior application for the August election to be a “dual” application – covering both the August AND November elections. If you are uncertain whether the city has already received an application for you for the November Election, please visit www.mi.gov/vote (click on “Apply for an Absentee Ballot Online” on the left side). If your application is on file, a message will pop-up from the website. If no message pops up, your request will be sent directly to the City Clerk’s Office.
