The Romence Road reconstruction project from Angling Road to Oakland Drive is set to begin on June 13, 2022, weather and materials permitting. Construction will consist of storm sewer improvements, widening of shoulders for consistent bike lane width, milling the existing pavement, curb and gutter improvements at intersections, upgrades of sidewalks and ADA ramps, paving, and restoration.
A detour route will be in place during milling and paving operations for westbound traffic only which is Oakland Drive north to East Milham Avenue, west to Angling Road, and south to Romence Road. Eastbound traffic is planned to be maintained at all times.
The City of Portage engaged Wightman for the engineering on this project and Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. for construction. The total cost for the project, which is estimated to be completed in August 2022, is $1,074,724.
